Setting Up Your Editor

Dialogue scripts in SUDS are plain text, which is very convenient for the writing and reviewing process. However, it's really nice to have some colour-coding on the scripts to make them easier to follow.

We highly recommend that you use Visual Studio Code, and install the SUDS Visual Studio Code Extension. The extension primarily provides syntax highlighting.

You can also find the extension on the VSCode Marketplace inside VSCode, by just searching for "SUDS".

Searching for SUDS extension

All the snippets in this documentation are syntax highlighted, and by having this extension installed, your scripts will be too.

Once you have that, fire up VSCode and we'll start writing our first script!
